John R. McAlister

John is a graduate of Murray State University with a degree in Business and minors in Education, History and Military Science.  John has over 35 years of experience in insurance, marketing and sales.  

He has been a stock broker and career agent with two leading insurance companies.  Since 1986 he has owned SourceBenefits in Columbus, OH which is now a division of Insurance Advisors, Inc. 

John and his wife Sally have been married for over 40 years and have two grown and happily married children and two grandchildren.  His hobbies include bicycling, hiking and political philosophy.  He is the founder of the Libertarian Studies Organization, past member of the Board of Directors for the DownsizeDC Foundation, Board Member of CAHU, and during the 2000 election he was the Libertarian Party Candidate for U.S. Senate in Ohio.  He also serves on City Council in the Columbus suburb of Gahanna.
